The Art of Adventure

The stay

A boutique suite in nature.

A timeless retreat of heavy canvas, full-grain leather, solid oak and steel — built to stand up to wind and weather, and to give guests a stay they remember.

Materials with character

Oak, canvas, leather and steel that never wear badly — they gain character.

Quiet and a view

Full-height glazing gives every setting the stage; the fire is the warm heart.

Demountable by nature

Resting lightly on screw piles. No heavy foundation, minimal impact on the land.

Considered down to the detail

Fine beds, subtle lighting, quiet climate control, a generous timber deck.

We do not build for one season. We build for generations.

The experience

Not just a night away — a story.

I

The spell of arriving

The noise falls away and the landscape takes over. Between green, timber and light, a warm silhouette appears.

II

Shelter around the fire

Rain on canvas, a glass of wine by the fire, a chair you sink into.

Interior of the Oaktipi with a freestanding matt white bath by the glazing, a suspended black stove and a view of ferns.

III

Waking to the rhythm of nature

Morning light through the glass, bare feet on the deck. The day begins unhurried, and awake.

The sleeping area of the Oaktipi with linen bedding, oak struts and doors opening onto the forest.

IV

A memory that lingers

Guests take home more than photographs. And that is exactly what sets your location apart.

For your location

An addition that sets your location apart.

Where the adventure began

“What began as an answer to a moment grew into a lasting fascination with craft, with form, and with the magic of a place that truly moves you.”

Six years ago my partner and I built our first two tipis in Limburg; everything we learned since sits in the Oaktipi.
